Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Krishna Mondal, a leader of the Trinamool Congress from the Raipur region, was shot in Budge Budge, Dongaria, on the 75 Road of 2nd Block early this morning. According to reports, Mondal was traveling on his bike when he was approached from behind by another motorcycle, carrying assailants. The assailants opened fire while the bikes were in motion. Mondal was struck by the bullets and fell onto the road, bleeding profusely.
Immediately following the attack, locals rushed to Mondal's aid and transported him to Mutchisha Rural Hospital. Due to the severity of his wounds, he was later transferred to a higher medical facility for further treatment. Local authorities have not yet provided an update on his specific injuries but confirmed that he remains under medical care.
Police forces have launched an investigation into the shooting. Officers are currently gathering evidence from the scene and questioning witnesses to identify the attackers. Investigators are also examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, including possible motives. As of now, no arrests have been made. The area has been secured, and additional police presence is reported as part of ongoing efforts to ensure public safety.
